Drake’s: The Barn- Behind the Scenes

I was fortunate enough to get a tour behind the scenes of Drake’s: The Barn in West Sacramento with Drake’s Brewing Company owner John Martin. You can read about all the great things you’ll find at the barn in my article at Craftbeer.com. But since there are limited photos in the article I thought I’d share some of my others.

PizzaSmith
Drake’s will operate a wood-fired pizza restaurant called PizzaSmith. The indoor area will be able to seat around 120 people.

Another look inside PizzaSmith. Really cool walls in there.
outdoor bar
This is the outdoor bar which Drake’s plan to install 50 taps. This is part of the new structure Drake’s built to meet the brewery’s needs.
metal fence
Behind the falsework is an artistic metal pipe fence wraps around the new structure.
bathrooms
Bathrooms are admittedly less than glamorous, but these might end up being the most important addition to The Barn outside of the cold box.
Outdoor dining
If you had been to The Barn before you know tablespace was an issue. Drake’s has installed several picnic style tables to provide outdoor seating.
Adirondack chair
Also adding to the outdoor seating are these Adirondack chairs and fire pits. Perfect for when those nights cooled by the Delta Breeze.
Barn Aerial
Here’s a really cool aerial image of The Barn. The rectangular structure houses the cold box, new bathrooms and the outdoor bar. Drake’s food truck called “Yo Lo, Slow and Low” will sit behind the pipe fencing. You can see the large lawn area addition made by Drake’s which is where a stage will sit and an eventual kids area will be constructed. Photo Courtesy: Kelly Huston
